Shivam Dube became a father and was also bought by Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2022. However, he had nervous and anxious moments.
His wife Anjum Khan gave birth to their son Ayan. However, the premature baby was kept at the neonatal intensive care unit for a couple of days due to a few complications.
“My son was born on February 9, but I left the next day for the Ranji Trophy 2022. I couldn’t spend time with my son as he was in NICU. He was born 25 days earlier and his breathing was fast. However, it was brought under control by doctors and he is at home. I was anxious but relieved now that things are under control,” he told TOI.
“My son brought me luck as my dream to play under MS Dhoni’s captaincy is going to come true. I have seen that those who play under his guidance feel secure and perform better. I will try to make a comeback to the Indian team by performing well for CSK,” he added.
Dube last played for India in a T20I against New Zealand in 2020.
