After losing the Test series in South Africa, the Men in Blue wanted to star three-match ODI series with a win, but the hosts played better cricket and won the first game by 31 runs.

Despite Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli’s fifties, the KL Rahul-led team lost a flurry of wickets in the last session of the game to end up short of the 297-run target.

Dhawan, who made a comeback after a long time, was not bothered with the defeat and stated that once Rohit Sharma returns from injury to take his opening position, the team will become stronger.

“Rohit is not here. Once he returns, we will have more experience, and the middle order will become stronger. The youngsters who get chances here will gain from this experience and get better. If something doesn’t work out in a game, it is okay. We are looking at the bigger picture.”
