Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has reportedly confirmed the wedding of his eldest daughter with Pakistan speed merchant Shaheen Shah Afridi. He had earlier revealed that his eldest daughter, Aqsa, is all set to marry star the Pakistan pacer.
Afridi, during a chat on Saturday, has openly confirmed that Shaheen Shah Afridi will be his son-in-law. Not only that, but he also revealed that the fast bowler had no relationship with his daughter before the pacer’s family came up with the wedding proposal.
“We Afridis have eight tribes, Shaheen and we belong to different tribes,” the legendary Pakistan all-rounder was quoted as saying by GeoTV. He asserted that Aqsa is an aspiring doctor and it’s not confirmed that she will pursue further education in Pakistan or England.
“Shaheen’s family approached my family for my daughter. Both families are in touch, matches are made in heaven, if Allah wills this match will be made too. My prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success on and off the field,” Afridi had earlier tweeted.
Shahid Afridi Afridi is blessed with five daughters – Aqsa, Ansha, Ajwa, Asmara, and Arwa. Even though he has announced his retirement from international cricket, the veteran all-rounder continues to ply his trade in T20 leagues across the world.
Both Shahid and Shaheen featured in the now-postponed sixth season of the Pakistan Super League. While the veteran cricketer represents the Multan Sultans in the tournament, his future son-in-law plays for the Lahore Qalandars in the PSL.
