Hardik Pandya and Shikhar Dhawan are the front-runners to lead India against the visiting team.

The selectors are ready to take tough calls ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.

The performance of the youngsters has put pressure on the senior players, and the wise men of the selection committee are ready to drop Mohammed Shami and R Ashwin from the T20I team. The latter will not be considered for the ODI as well.

Rohit Sharma has backed Ashwin recently, who stated that the off-spinner deserves to represent India across formats.

Ashwin was widely seen as Rohit’s favorite bowler, but the Chetan Sharma-led team is not impressed.

As per a report in the Times of India, the selectors are likely to include more multi-skilled players in the team and good fielders.

The 35-year-old is not the quickest fielder, and it is for this reason he could see his return to white-ball cricket short-lived.
