Abhishek Sharma is a household name in India, and some of his teammates are jealous of his popularity, said Sanju Samson. He revealed that whenever the team played before the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, fans would come in large numbers to see Abhishek.
Samson mentioned that Abhishek is followed by Team India’s supporters, which makes some of the players think whether the fans are noticing them or not.
“The boys used to get jealous because of the support Abhishek gets. It was Abhishek everywhere, and we are like, do people only watch him?” Samson said at the India Today conclave.
Samson urged Abhishek to get married soon so that other team members can get some importance.
“He is the superstar. Get married soon,” he added. Abhishek has been unstoppable since making his debut in 2024 and is currently the No.1 batter in ICC Rankings for batters in T20Is. After dominating the bowlers in the Indian Premier League, Abhishek set the stage on fire in international cricket.
