Danish Kaneria said that Sanju Samson can score a double century like Ishan Kishan, but the management and the selectors must give the right-handed batter enough opportunities for that to happen.
Samson was overlooked for the ODIS series in Bangladesh, while he played just one 50-over game in a three-match series in New Zealand.
“We want to see Sanju Samson playing consistently for India. He is a player who can score a double ton like Ishan Kishan. If you give chances to players, then only they will score runs,” he added.
Samson has been often benched by captains and coaches of Team India. Rishabh Pant, who has been a big flop, is India’s first choice wicket-keeper batter in white-ball cricket.
