England wicket-keeper batter Jos Buttler is facing heat from former players after his dismissal in the first innings of the third Ashes Test. Former Australia skipper Allan Border has described it as a sackable offence.
Buttler was out for three as England were bowled out for 185 in the first innings, with the 31-year old trying to hit Nathan Lyon out of the park and the ball landing into the hands of Mitchell Starc.
Speaking on Fox Cricket, Border launched a scathing attack on Buttler’s shot selection, saying: “A sackable offence as far as I’m concerned.
Former England cricketers Mark Ramprakash and Nick Compton have also slammed the batter.
While Ramprakash said Buttler has never looked “comfortable” as a Test match batter, Compton called persuing with Jos as a wicket-keeper a waste of time.
