Ex-Indian opener Virender Sehwag has hit out at the selectors and team management for ignoring senior pacer Mohammed Shami.

Sachin Tendulkar analyzed the Asia Cup 2022 match against Pakistan, saying the clash came down to pacers’ fitness under pressure.

He lauded the fast bowlers from both teams for bowling impressive spells in the group match of the Asia Cup on Sunday, August 28. While Indian pacers took all 10 wickets, Pakistan’s Naseem Shah and Shahnawaz Dahani tested the Indian batters.

“It came down to the fitness of the fast bowlers while put under pressure, though both teams’ pacers bowled well upfront,” Tendulkar tweeted.

Tendulkar also praised India all-rounder Hardik Pandya. He shared a 52-run stand after India lost KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

“Crucial knock by Hardik to stay till the end & get us over the line & ably supported by @imjadeja & Virat. Congrats, India, on a nail-biting win,” Tendulkar said.
