Fans lauded the Indian bowling all-rounder as ‘Lord Shardul’ remained a top trend on the social networking site. For the unversed, ‘Lord Shardul’ and ‘Beefy’are some of the popular nicknames of the Indian player.

Shardul revealed the reason behind his popular name – Lord Shardul.

“I seriously don’t know who started calling me Lord. But I am sure it started in a home series against England after returning from Australia. I took two wickets in an over, and from there, the name arrived,” mShardul told BCCI.TV.

He registered the best bowling figures by an India bowler in South Africa. Shardul bagged seven wickets and conceded just 61 runs.
