Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has demanded strict punishment for Virat Kohli after his aggressive behavior on Day 3 of the Cape Town Test. Virat completely lost cool after DRS overturned the on-field umpire’s decision against South Africa skipper Dean Elgar.
Marais Erasmus had given Elgar out on R Ashwin’s bowling. However, the DRS showed the delivery going over the stumps, and Erasmus was told to change his decision. This left the Indian players frustrated, and Virat, R Ashwin, and KL Rahul were caught making controversial remarks in the heat of the moment.
When Vaughan was asked to give his opinion on Kohli’s behavior at the Newlands in Cape Town, he said – “It is important for the ICC to step in as you can’t allow that to happen. It is right to get frustrated when a decision goes against you, but the apex body has to take a call when you act like that despite being a captain and the leader of our game. He should be fined or suspended as you can’t act like that when you are leading your side in international cricket,” he said.
