On Monday, former Pakistan captain Salman Butt lauded head coach Rahul Dravid after he backed Test skipper Virat Kohli for his work ethic. Butt made a statement after Chetan Sharma’s clarification on Kohli’s explosive press conference. The chief selector had sided with Sourav Ganguly’s statement that Virat was urged to continue as a T20I skipper, a claim denied by the 33-year old player.
“I know there has been a lot of talks from outside the group. However, the team has kept the morale high as it’s been led by the skipper himself,” said Dravid.
“I think Kohli has been superb with his preparations with the group,” he added.
Butt admitted that Rahul Dravid has been superb in his role. He was also impressed with Dravid not involving himself in white-ball captaincy row.
“This is called man-management. He hailed and backed Kohli despite what was being said about him. He didn’t say a word on a discussion involving the chief selector or the chairman on,” he added.
Dravid revealed that nothing has distracted Virat’s preparations for the Test series. Meanwhile, Virat was ruled out of the second Test against South Africa.
