SA vs IND First Test scheduled to start on December 26, will be contested behind closed doors.
The SuperSport Park will only welcome a few members, including delegates for the contest. The weekly newspaper ‘ Rapport has confirmed the report.’
Cricket South Africa has taken this decision after the outbreak of Covid-19 due to the Omicron variant.
The cases dropped over the last week, but the situation is still concerning.
If the situation doesn’t improve in the coming days, the spectators will not be allowed for the remaining two Test matches as well. Tickets for the second Test at The Wanderers are not up for sale, which has been confirmed by the official Twitter handle of the stadium.
“Please note, no announcement has been made regarding ticket sales for the upcoming Test match at the #ImperialWanderers Stadium between South Africa and India. At this point, it isn’t clear if fans will be allowed. We will make further announcements in due course.”
