Former India cricketer and one of famous commentators, Aakash Chopra, has highlighted one area, which needs immediate attention of the team management and selectors.
According to him, Team India doesn’t have wicket-taking bowlers in the shorter formats of the game. He stated India have bowlers who can bowl economically, but they are short on wickets count.
Aakash also compared India with other teams in international cricket.
“If you look at other teams, you will see atleast four bowlers, who can dismissed rival batters, but the same thing is missing from one of the best sub-continent teams,” said Aakash.
He further added that India paid price for this shortcoming in the ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE. The visitors have struggled to take regular wickets in the ongoing ODI series against South Africa.
