Rohit Sharma was not ready to lead in T20Is alone and kept a demand in front of the selectors that he should be given captaincy in ODIs as well. He would accept the leadership role only if the entire white-ball responsibility was given to him.
Rohit recently replaced Virat in the ODI set-up. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had revealed that the selectors wanted one skipper for limited-overs formats.
However, according to Cricbuzz Plus, Rohit kept the condition of taking over the role in the shortest format of the game only if he is given the command of one-day team.
Rohit was practicing with Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane in Mumbai when selectors met to appoint him as the ODI skipper.
