Former Pakistan player Mohammad Hafeez has taken a dig at Rohit Sharma for his performance and captaincy in the Asia Cup 2022. He said Rohit is under pressure due to many things and has been talking a lot about the new and positive brand of cricket.
“He hasn’t been able to perform in this format of the game since making a comeback. Rohit is a free-flowing batter, but he is under pressure due to many things. He has been talking a lot about the new approach and brand, but that’s not reflecting in the team’s and his performances. It is easy to talk than execute things,’ said Hafeez.
Hafeez further said it would be tough for Rohit to continue as India’s skipper.
“I am not predicting this, but I feel he can’t continue as a skipper for long. I have been a captain myself, and if I look at Rohit, he is not enjoying his game and leadership. India’s think-tank should decide about his captaincy as his performance went down since he started leading India. He can play for many more years but not as a skipper of the team,” he added.
