Rohit Sharma's participation in the Test series against South Africa has been put in doubt due to injury.

India scored 276/3 on the opening day of the 2nd Test match against England at Lord’s. The credit goes to KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, who were unstoppable against the hosts.

After the end of the first day’s play, one of the journalists reminded Hitman that if India could win the ongoing Test in four days, they would be able to get the victory on August 15 – which is Independence Day.

Rohit praised the reporter for his question and said, “Salute Sir, kya bola hai aapne, agar ye hua toh badhiya ho jaayega (Salute Sir, well said, it would be great if this can happen).”

He failed to complete his maiden Test hundred in England as he was bowled by James Anderson for 83.

“I wouldn’t say the best because as long as you are playing there will be a lot of opportunities that you will be having. But yes, certainly challenging, the most challenging innings I have played. I felt very good, I was happy with the way we started off. Unfortunate dismissal but I couldn’t have done anything to that,” said Rohit while replying to a query from ANI.
