KL Rahul is expected to miss the first Test of the Sri Lanka series in Mohali. His availability is not confirmed for the second and final match of the series as well. The right-handed batter injured his hamstring during the ODI series and was ruled out of the ongoing T20Is against West Indies.

According to KSR, who is one of the renowned journalists, Rohit Sharma will lead India in the red-ball series against the Lankan Lions as Test team’s likely skipper KL Rahul has not recovered from his injury and needs more time before joining the squad.

Rohit is the permanent limited-overs captain of the Men in Blue and has been spot on with his strategies and tactics. Meanwhile, Rahul’s stature has grown in last one year. He has become a regular member in Test cricket after his magnificent performance in England.

He will lead Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League 2022.
