Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will miss the rescheduled fifth Test against England, with Jasprit Bumrah to lead the team.

Rohit is down with COVID-19 and his absence will impact India’s chances of winning the game. The visitors are already without KL Rahul, who is suffering from a groin injury.

India have called up Mayank Agarwal as a cover for the skipper. As per reports in Dainik Jagran, BCCI sources have confirmed that Rohit Sharma will not be available for selection.

India were leading 2-1 when the last game was called off due to COVID-19 outbreak in the Indian camp.

After a long discussion, the BCCI and ECB agreed to play the remaining contest before the white-ball series in 2022.

The upcoming Test is important for the sub-continent team, considering the World Test Championship in mind.
