Team India’s limited-overs skipper Rohit Sharma led from the front in his first ODI as full-time captain of India. After dismissing West Indies for 176 runs, Rohit scored a half-century to lead the run chase.
The 34-year player was at his usual best despite playing cricket after a long time.
“It is not easy to make a comeback after a long injury lay-off, but Rohit is god-gifted. He is the only player who has all the time in the world. Average batsmen get beaten by the pace at the international level, But Sharma is untroubled. He won’t be happy with the way he got out. He used his bowlers well. Good start for him as a captain.”
The Men in Blue defeated West Indies by six wickets in the opening game of the three-match series.
