India's top order failed in the second straight game against England.

India’s top order failed in the second straight game against England. However, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya played the best innings of their careers to lead India to a series win. The Men in Blue won the final game of the ODI series by 5 wickets.

Former Test batter Wasim Jaffer feels India’s top order is an area of concern.

“India have always done well when the top three have contributed. But that didn’t happen in the last two 0DIs and that is something that needs to be looked at. Virat Kohli is failing and Shikhar Dhawan is looking rusdty,” Jaffer noted during an interaction on ESPNCricinfo.

Rohit, who scored an unbeaten 58-ball 76 in the opening match, failed to get going. “Rohit has been inconsistent. But it would still make Sharma happy if the middle-order batters are playing well.” he added.

Despite winning both the white-ball series, India would want to see runs coming from the bat of star players.
