Saba Karim feels it would be difficult for Team India to beat England in the final Test of the series.

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer feels Rohit Sharma can become a better Test captain than Virat Kohli, who resigned from his post after team’s defeat in South Africa. Rohit led India to a 2-0 Test series win against Sri Lanka.

On the other hand, Virat is still the most successful Indian Test captain, having won 40 out of his 68 Tests with a win percentage of 59. He had replaced MS Dhoni in 2014.

“Rohit Sharma can become a better Test captain than Virat Kohli. Don’t know about the duration of his captaincy tenure but tactically he is one of the best skippers and we are seeing the results. India have whitewashed every rival under his leadership. The captaincy has come in the hands of a right man.”

India are placed fourth in the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 points table after defeating Sri Lanka. However, the series defeat against the Proteas has impacted their position. Jaffer still feels India can qualify for the finale of the prestigious tournament.

“We have enough breaks between the remaining seven Tests and qualifying for the final shouldn’t be a problem.”
