Rohit Sharma is under pressure as a captain. After India’s semi-final exit in the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia, he will lead India in two important ICC events.
First, he would captain India in the four-match Test series against Australia to qualify for the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
Then India will host the 2023 ODI World Cup in October and November.
There are speculations on his captaincy future after Hardik Pandya was named the skipper for the T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Rohit, who missed the series, will be making a comeback as a skipper in the ODI contest.
He was asked who can be his successor in ODIs and Tests.
“It is difficult to say as everyone is focusing on the 2023 ODI World Cup. We also have four Test matches against Australia, which are very important for our qualification to the final of the ICC World Test Championship.”
