Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid sacking
India were quite ordinary across formats in 2022.

Former wicketkeeper-batter Robin Uthappa feels that Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid made a mistake by not playing Yuzvendra Chahal even once in Australia’s ICC T20 World Cup.

The leg-spinner failed to break into the playing XI despite good performances by tweakers in the tournament.

Leg-spinners from other teams, like Shadab Khan, Adil Rashid, and Wanindu Hasaranga, had good campaigns.

“India might regret not giving even one game to Chahal. He could have been given a chance to see his skills in those conditions,” he told Sportskeeda.

Chahal’s wait for a T20 World Cup appearance continues as he was not part of the edition in 2021 while he was benched Down Under.

Mohammad Kaif also spoke on Chahal’s absence from the Playing XI in Australia.

“Players are helpless when they are made to sit on the bench. They only bowl in the nets and train at the gym,” he told Sportskeeda.
