The Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) has announced Team India's squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against England.

Rishabh Pant, who has not played a white-ball game since January 2020, is likely to get recalled for the upcoming limited-overs series against England, having impressed with both bat and gloves in the ongoing Test series against the Joe Root-led side.

Rishabh Pant was dropped from ODI and T20I squads for the Australia tour last year as the selectors decided to give the nod to Sanju Samson. But, it will be interesting to see whether Pant gets a nod ahead of KL Rahul, who has been donning the gloves since the tour of New Zealand in 2020.

As per the Times of India, Samson is likely to get dropped, which will mean a recall for Pant. The southpaw had played a pivotal role in the Test series win in Australia, top scoring for India with 274 runs. Interestingly, He wasn’t first choice and only got a nod after Wriddhiman Saha failed with the bat in the first Test.

Reports also suggest that SuryaKumar Yadav is on the fray for the five T20Is against England. Suryakumar has been a consistent performer in IPL over the years. Despite scoring 480 runs in IPL 2020 for Mumbai Indian, he was overlooked for the T20I series against Australia.

‘SKY’ could replace either Manish Pandey or Shreyas Iyer, the report adds. is already at NCA, where the BCCI recently conducted the 2-km run fitness test. The white-ball series will kick off with five-match T20I series in Ahmedabad from March 12 to 20, followed by 3 ODIs in Pune on March 23, 26 and 28.
