Rishabh Pant has become the most hated player in the team after playing a rash shot in the second innings of the ongoing Test against South Africa. First, Sunil Gavaskar slammed him for playing a reckless shot when the team needed him the most. Then Aakash Chopra came forward to criticize him for throwing away this wicket. And now, Gautam Gambhir has taken on the wicket-keeper batter.
“Unbelievable, you will call that stupidity and not bravery. The way Rahane and Pujara got you back in this Test match, you have given it back to South Africa. This is not Test cricket. There is a very thin line to call yourself brave.”
“If you had hit a six as well with that shot, you would still not have called that an excellent shot. Test cricket is all about handling pressure, and you knew that Rabada was bowling his fourth or fifth over.”
Pant was dismissed without troubling the scorers after he tried to hit Kagiso Rabada over the top.
