Ashwin, who is representing India in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup, has opened up on the captaincy of Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli was a happy man after India defeated Afghanistan to register their first win in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue won the game by 66 runs which gave them two points. In a post-match presentation ceremony, Virat Kohli was asked to choose the best moment of the day between Rohit-Rahul partnership, Hardik Pandya’s aggressive batting, and R Ashwin’s bowling display.

The skipper went with R Ashwin who took two wickets and conceded just 14 runs from his 4 overs. Lauding the veteran spinner, Virat said it was pleasing to see Ash taking wickets in his first T20I match after years. He also spoke about R Ashwin’s economy which was just 3.50.

Earlier, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma stitched a partnership of 140 runs and gave India a solid start. Hardik Panday and Rishabh Pant added more than 60 runs in the death overs to take India to 210/2 in 20 overs.
