Indian cricketer Yash Dayal has been denied anticipatory bail by a Jaipur POCSO court in a rape case the rape of a minor. The order, passed by Judge Alka Bansal of Jaipur Metropolitan Court (POCSO Court-3), stated that available evidence does not reflect any false accusation and early findings point to his possible involvement.
A case was registered at Sanganer Sadar in Jaipur after a minor alleged Dayal repeatedly assaulted her over a two-and-a-half-year period. She claimed that he promised to help her in cricket related. However, he was raped at hotels in Jaipur and Kanpur. Investigators are relying on recovered messages, images, videos, call logs and hotel stay details as key evidence under POCSO.
Lawyer Kunal Jaiman, appearing for Dayal, argued that there were no one-on-one meetings and that any interactions happened only at public places. The defence claimed she took financial help from Dayal and subsequently made repeated monetary demands, calling the FIR an attempt to intimidate and extract money. It also said a case in Ghaziabad was connected to the same alleged conspiracy, but the Jaipur court denied anticipatory bail.
