R Ashwin IND vs WI
R Ashwin defends Rahul Dravid's decision to rest senior players

Ravichandran Ashwin has over 400 Test wickets and regularly plays for India in red-ball cricket. He is a part of the team that has reached England for the World Test Championship Final against Australia at The Oval in London.

The management will have to take a call on the bowling composition. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been phenomenal for the sub-continent team in the longest format but will India take the risk of playing just three fast bowlers in the English conditions?

Australia assistant coach Daniel Vettori shed light on Australia’s preparations and feels Ashwin would be dropped from the team and Jadeja will play as a lone spinner.

“I think Ravindra Jadeja will play. He has been good in the lower order with the bat and in bowling department as well,” he said.

Vettori said Ashwin is a good bowler, but the team combination might result in his exclusion from the important game.

“Ashwin is an incredible bowler, but he won’t play against Australia,” he concluded.
