Commenting on his absence from the commentary box in the last five years, the veteran came down hard on the BCCI.

Ravi Shastri was one of the best coaches during his tenure. India won twice in Australia and were leading in England when the series was postponed. Winning a Test series Down Under is a rare feat for a sub-continent team and achieving it twice was unbelievable.

Apart from the red-ball cricket, India won in the shortest formats of the game as well. India were a force to reckon with in Shastri’s era.

However, he also experienced tough moments. Virat Kohli & Co. failed to win an ICC trophy and the team was slammed for falling short in the important matches.

In his interview with The Week, Ravi Shastri was asked to reveal his toughest day as a coach.

The veteran was shocked when India were dismissed for just 36 in a pink ball Test at the Adelaide in 2020. “We were in a state of shock for days. I told the boys to face it and focus on the remaining games. They responded back brilliantly and we won the series in the end,” said Shastri.
