Bangladesh’s spin bowling coach Rangana Herath has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the tour of New Zealand, and all the players have been put into isolation for three days.

According to the report, Rangana Herath is experiencing mild symptoms after testing positive for the virus.

Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO, told Dhaka-based The Daily Star that players were following all the protocols.

“We are maintaining the existing protocols. Tomorrow (December 17), we will have a clearer picture as they have taken some samples today. The results are due tomorrow. The players are separated, so hopefully, there will be no other complications. This is part and parcel of the new reality,” he said.

Another set of tests was conducted with the players and the other support staff except Herath returning negative. However, the players cannot resume training before three days.
