Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ramiz Raja has appreciated the team’s performance in 2021. He credited Babar Azam for the resurgence. The Pakistan cricket team won 20 T20I matches, the most by any side in a calendar year, including a victory over arch-rivals in the ICC T20 World Cup.

He also credited the influence of Saqlain Mushtaq (interim head coach), Matthew Hayden (batting consultant) and Vernon Philander (bowling consultant).

Raja said that these three legends created a relaxed dressing room environment. The board members applauded the team and felt that players came close to meeting the fans’ expectations.

The apex body also discussed the players’ workload and how it could be managed in the upcoming assignments.
