Former Pakistan player Danish Kaneria has slammed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman for defending Rawalpindi’s dead wicket after the opening Test against Australia ended in a draw.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kaneria said that Ramiz was misguiding fans with his excuses for preparing such a lifeless track for the much awaited clash against the Aussie after 24 years.
“Ramiz Raja is lying and his lame excuses will help. The wicket was dead and had nothing for the bowlers. He betrayed Pakistan fans. Ramiz was busy in his son’s wedding and then saw a lot of noise about the wicket. Australia are in Pakistan after 24 years and this is the kind of wicket you prepare for a big match.”
Danish also came down hard on skipper Babar Azam. “What were you afraid of? You had bowlers but you didn’t play them. You have a weak captain who cannot be aggressive while leading the team. It was such a wicket that even Ramiz Raja would have scored runs on it even at this stage.”
