Thakur, who faired against New Zealand A in the first ODI with a four-wicket haul, has spoken about his snub

After months of experimentation, trying, and testing several players, the Indian management has settled for their preferred 15 going into the World Cup.

The selected ones are playing against Australia in the three-match T20I series, but a few who got ousted from the team mid-way had to be content with playing for India A.

The India A side is hosting New Zealand A for a three-match ODI series in Chennai. Players like Sanju Samson, Kuldeep Yadav, and Shardul Thakur are a part of the India A squad.

Meanwhile, Thakur, who faired against New Zealand A in the first ODI with a four-wicket haul, has spoken about his snub and revealed details about his conversation with Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma.

“When I talked to Rahul bhai and Rohit before the squad got announced, they told me that I am a three-format player. They told me they need me in all formats but haven’t talked again after that due to a busy schedule.”

Shardul concluded that he is bowling well and hope for a national call soon.

“I am bowling well. In the last two white-ball series, I have taken wickets. Thus, I hope I get a national call soon.”
