Several records are in store for Indian players and the side to break in the Test series against SA.

Former Team India fielding coach R Sridhar has lauded Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for their catching in the slip cordon. He believes they are the best slip fielders of the national team.

“Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are the best two best slip fielders India have right now”, he told Boria Majumdar.

“Virat can come down really quick and has done a lot of work on his concentration and focus. Now you can see him go for the half chances and pluck them more often than not. Rohit works very hard on his slip catching and takes around 60 to 80 catches during each session to improve his slip catching,” he added.

The duo is often stationed in the slip cordon during the Test matches while they change their positions in the ODIs and T20Is.

While Rohit recently led India in the T20I series between India and New Zealand, Virat will return to the squad for the second Test match in Mumbai.

Rohit has been rested for the ongoing Test series against the Kiwis.
