Cricketers are often compared with each other. Players of similar records have been subjected to comparisons in international cricket.
Veteran Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has often been compared to former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh.
Former India player Gautam Gambhir opined on the matter. Speaking to Star Sports, Gambhir said that as a batter, he felt Ashwin would have been tougher to face.
He lauded Ashwin’s accuracy but admitted that Harbhajan was more beautiful to watch gives his ability to bowl doosra and get the ball to dip.
“As a batter, I would hate to face Ravichandran Ashwin, but I would love to watch Harbhajan Singh. As a left-handed batter, I feel Ashwin could dismiss me. Ashwin is more difficult to face as he is more accurate because of his variations. Harbhajan Singh was more beautiful to watch,” he said.
Earlier, Gautam had compared Ashwin with legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev. He had stated that the spinner is as important as Kapil was in his heydays.
