Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Priyam Garg has credited Indian batting legend Rahul Dravid for shaping his career.

Dravid is regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of cricket. Throughout his glorious cricketing career, the 48-year-old inspired several young players with his impeccable batting skills.

After retiring from international cricket, Dravid even served as the coach of the U-19 and India A team before he took over as the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Notably, Priyam Garg is among those few young players who are lucky enough to have been mentored by Rahul Dravid.

In his latest interview with India TV, the 20-year-old recently lauded Dravid’s contribution to his growth as a cricketer.

“Rahul Dravid is a very big player and he is also a very good person. He always helps you, whether you are on the field or off it. He always keeps giving suggestions over what is good for you,” Priyam told India TV.

“When I went with him to England and South Africa, he shared his personal experiences with me, which helped me a lot. He explained me how to deal with the conditions, how to bat on those wickets, tackle the bowlers and deal with the various challenges,” the youngster added.

Garg was a part of the SRH squad for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) but didn’t get a chance to showcase his batting prowess before the tournament was suspended.
