Prithvi Shaw scored a stroke-filled 43 runs off just 24 balls which was enough to walk away with the Man of the Match award in the series opener of the three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka.

He impressed everyone and slammed boundaries to all parts of the ground. He gave India a flying start in pursuit of 263. Shaw hit 9 fours in his knock. After India’s win, Aakash Chopra praised the opening batsman.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra said, “It seemed the momentum will be with Sri Lanka but Prithvi came, Prithvi ‘Shaw’, Prithvi conquered. He is from a different planet. I am a huge Prithvi Shaw fan because you will not get a batsman like that in entire India.”

“Viru (Virender Sehwag) used to be there but this player, 43 runs in just 24 balls, and it seemed without breaking a sweat, without taking chances, only on the rise and through the gap. I mean what a player. 2021 has been in this player’s name, from the Vijay Hazare Trophy to the IPL to now,” Chopra further opined.

After being dropped from the national side following his ordinary performance in Australia, Shaw scored a plethora of runs in the domestic circuit and the Indian Premier League.
