Ashwin-Jadeja
Aakash Chopra remarked that Ashwin-Jadeja are not in tandem

Veteran Indian wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik has shared his opinion on India’s selection of spinners for the ICC World Test Championship against Australia.

Karthik believes it would be a brave move to field Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja together. He suggests that the team might choose between one spin option and an extra fast-bowling all-rounder, such as Shardul Thakur.

During the recent Border-Gavaskar Test series, India successfully utilized three spinners in their playing XI, resulting in a series victory.

However, Karthik thinks that playing Ashwin and Jadeja in the previous World Test Championship final was a mistake, as the conditions did not favor spin bowling.

He advises the selectors not to repeat this error and recommends playing only one specialist spinner for the upcoming championship match.

Karthik acknowledges that the final decision will depend on the conditions closer to the match day. He highlights that in the previous tour of England, India opted for a fast-bowling all-rounder and just one spinner.

Therefore, whether India will go with a similar approach or include both spinners in their playing XI for the crucial championship clash remains to be seen.
