The national selectors didn’t include him in the squad for the ongoing T20I series against Australia, leading to outrage on social media, with Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor calling it an unfair treatment.

“People call me the unlikeliest cricketer, but where I’ve reached currently, it’s much more than what I thought I could.”
He is currently playing for Kerala in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He will lead the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League in 2024.
