The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League will be played across different cities, with BCCI returning to home and away formula after a huge deduction in COVID-19 positive cases.

The 10 franchises must submit the list of their retained players by 15 November. The governing body of Indian cricket will organize a mini-auction in December.

Pat Cummins, who was involved with the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022, has decided to skip the upcoming season to concentrate on the Ashes.

His teammate Mitchell Starc, who hasn’t played in the league for years, will not give his name for the auction to manage his workload and play for Australia.

Adil Rashid, who was exceptional for England in the semi-final and final of the ICC T20 World Cup, is hoping to get a franchise this time.

Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur has joined KKR from Delhi Capitals for the new season.
