Aamir Khan returned to the big screen after a hiatus of four years with a much-anticipated Lal Singh Chaddha. It is the Hindi adaptation of the 1994 cult movie ‘Forrest Gump’.
Similar to other Bollywood movies in recent times, Lal Singh Chaddha also caught the boycott fire before its release. People demanded a complete boycott of the film due to Khan’s comment on growing intolerance in India.
Aamir recently clarified that he is a true patriot. However, the movie received a cold response on the opening day of its release.
Meanwhile, former England spinner Monty Panesar has also written against Lal Singh Chaddha. Panesar took to Twitter to express his anger.
“Forrest Gump fits in the US Army because the US was recruiting low-IQ men to meet requirements for the Vietnam War. This movie is a total disgrace to the Indian Army and Sikhs!! Disrespectful. Disgraceful. #BoycottLalSinghChadda”
In another tweet, he listed the medals won by Sikh forces.
Panesar was born in Luton, England. His parents are from Punjab and moved to England in 1979. He played 77 matches and took 193 wickets for England.
