Pakistan have decided to challenge the new two-and-a-half month expanded window for the Indian Premier League. PCB chairman Ramiz Raja will raise the issue at the next ICC meet.
“There is confirmation on the IPL window yet. I will give my views on the issues at the next ICC meeting,” Raja said during a media conference here on Friday.
“I am pretty clear. If there is any development in world cricket, that means we are being short-changed. So we will challenge it strongly and put our view in the ICC,” he said.
The PCB’s decision to take on the BCCI comes after Jay Shah said that the Indian cricket board will be getting an extended window for the Indian Premier League from 2024 to 2031.
Raja also said that while Pakistan is keen on playing India, the political situation doesn’t allow it to happen.
“I have spoken to Sourav Ganguly, but the ball lies in the court of the governments. Due to political tension, cricket is taking a hit.”
