The governing body of Pakistan cricket, PCB, wants to host ICC events during the 2024-31 cycle. Pakistan has a desire to host six ICC tournaments. They are keen to have a three-venue Champions Trophy of 2025 and 2029.
As per the press release submitted by PCB on July 01, 2021, they want to host the two-eight venue World T20s of 2026 and 2028.
PCB is also interested to host the two-10 venue ICC men’s WCs of 2027 and 2031 in collaboration with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi and Peshawar will be the proposed venues. The two World Cups will be hosted alongside UAE.
PCB is likely to hire Eastern Star International for the security during the home matches against big countries.
Pakistan are eyeing to host England, West Indies, Australia and New Zealand between September 2021 and March 2022.
Pakistan has been marred with security issues in the past and the international teams have been reluctant to play in the sub-continent country. However, with the government’s assurance and improved scenario, big countries are thinking of playing in Pakistan.
