Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that Saqlain Mushtaq will continue to coach the national team for another 12 months. The Ramiz Raja-led organization has added former cricketers Shaun Tait and Mohammad Yousuf to the coaching staff. While former Aussie pacer has come on board as team’s bowling coach for one year, Yousuf will take care of the batting department for the upcoming three-match Test series against Australia.

The PCB had given an advertisement for five coaching positions – national high performance, batting, bowling, power-hitting and fielding – in December last year and had set a deadline for application as late January. Tait is the only candidate who has been appointed via this process, while the other appointments were made directly.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Saqlain had resigned after the Test series in Bangladesh but Ramiz Raja persuaded him to continue coaching the side.

Pakistan’s support personnel: Mansoor Rana (manager), Saqlain Mushtaq (head coach), Shahid Aslam (assistant to head coach), Mohammad Yousuf (batting coach), Shaun Tait (bowling coach), Cliffe Deacon (physiotherapist), Drikus Saaiman (trainer/strength and conditioning coach), Abdul Majeed (fielding coach)
