Finn Allen is the rising star of New Zealand cricket and showed his class in the ICC T20 World Cup. The team management will persist with him despite his one or two failures.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said Kevin Pietersen has been his idol growing up and watching him play his brand of attacking cricket,” he said,
“I was told that I will open for New Zealand. The management allowed me to play my style of cricket against Australia in the ICC T20 World, and there was no looking back. I want to stick to that brand of cricket,” he added.
Speaking about the Indian team, he praised Virat Kohli but said he would love to play like Suryakumar Yadav, who is more enjoyable to watch.
“I admire Virat Kohli, but I love watching Suryakumar Yadav and want to bat like him. He is the No. 1 batter in the world at the moment. Some of his shots are out of the world.”
