Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj could be rested from the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan.
There were reports of the series getting cancelled due to packed schedule of Team India but the BCCI has decided to go ahead with the games.
Hardik Pandya is likely to lead the second-string squad. The dates haven’t been announced but it will be played in between the WTC final and India’s tour to West Indies.
Most of the Indian players were part of the Indian Premier League 2023. The top stars will compete with Australia in the World Championship Final at The Oval.
India will travel to West Indies for a three-format tour. They will play two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is against the home team.
A full-strength Indian side is expected to take the field.
