Kapil Dev has given his verdict on the much-awaited IND vs PAK match in the Asia Cup 2025 and urged everyone to stop making it a big issue. He said that the government will do its job and let the players do theirs. Since the schedule was announced, several former Indian players requested the Indian Cricket Board to boycott the match. They also slammed the BCCI after their appeals were not heard.
The BCCI has maintained that it will follow the government’s policy, which allows it to play against Pakistan in international tournaments.
“India should win the match. The job of the players is to play, and there is no need to say anything else. Don’t make it an issue. The government has done its job and let the players do theirs,” he said.

India won the first match by 9 wickets against the UAE. The home team was bowled out for 57 runs, and the Suryakumar Yadav-led team completed the chase in 27 balls. “The team was impressive in the first match, and let’s hope they bring the trophy home,” Kapil Dev added.
India won the previous edition of the tournament in 2023.
