Team India will play two T20Is against Ireland on the 26th and 28th of June.
The squad for the tour is almost identical to the one playing against the Proteas. The noticeable inclusions are Rahul Tripathi and Sanju Samson.
Both the players had a successful IPL season, especially Tripathi, who amassed 413 runs, his career-best, and earned his maiden call-up for India. However, Aakash Chopra said that he doesn’t think Tripathi or Samson would be a part of the playing XI.
“I don’t think even Sanju Samson will get a chance if we look at the pecking order. The management will give chances to those who are part of the squad against South Africa. They deserve their chances.”
Chopra feels they would warm the bench on the tour of Ireland.
“No. Not happening. Sorry. There are already 9 batters! Deepak Hooda hasn’t got a chance. Venkatesh Iyer hasn’t got a chance,” Chopra added.
