Aakash Chopra said that Prithvi Shaw would not play in the second T20I against New Zealand despite the failure of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill in the first T20I in Ranchi.
The second game of the three-match series will be played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday (January 29). The Men in Blue were 15-3 while chasing a 177-run target and lost the contest by 21 runs.
“Is there any scope for change in the squad? That’s a big question. Prithvi Shaw should play after Gill and Kishan’s failure, but I don’t see that happening,” he said on his YouTube channel.
“In a three-match series, you stick with the players who were part of the squad in the opening game. If you make changes, questions are raised on your selection policy. The team in Ranchi will also be seen playing in Lucknow.”
