New Zealand cricket team on Saturday revealed their brand-new jersey for their upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia. While the series opener will be played on Monday, February 22 at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington, Auckland, and Mount Maunganui will host the other matches.
Australia were in action, recently, against India before their tour of South Africa was called off due to travel and health restrictions. Both teams were scheduled to play three Tests. Kane Williamson-led New Zealand, on the other hand, must be high on confidence after thumping the West Indies and Pakistan at home.
Talking about the brand-new Blackcaps kit, Williamson and his men posed in front of the cameras. The Blackcaps official Twitter account posted a few photos of the same.
Meanwhile, the Kiwis have already qualified for the final of the World Test Championship to be played at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. The Blackcaps will play either India, England or Australia in the final. Williamson was pretty psyched to play the final at the Home of Cricket.
“It’s exciting to play in the final of the first (World) Test Championship. Adding Test Championship has added context to Test cricket and it has been a really interesting move,” he had said.
“I think we have seen that more so in recent months, where sides have made players benefit from opportunities to advance themselves into the final and that’s really exciting,” Williamson had stated.
